Do you screen your clients? If so, what is your ideal client?

I don't quite have a process. However, I genuinely accept all requests when someone contacts me to tell me about their project.

From there, I usually go on instinct, and I check:

  • If I have the bandwidth to help them;
  • If I have the right skills;
  • If I'm interested and believe in the project;

Sometimes, all I can do is give an intro to someone. Sometimes, all I can do is share some advice or some perspective. Sometimes, it sounds like it's a good fit, but after a few weeks it doesn't work out. And sometimes, it's a good match and everyone is happy.
