How do you minimize your daily accommodation expenses as a digital nomad?

I think there are three best ways to minimize your accommodation expenses while traveling:
- Staying with friends. When I began traveling as a digital nomad at the age of 19, I was a little tight with my budget, so every time I'd go to a new place, I'd ask my friends to introduce me to their friends in that city/country and most of them would be really happy to host me. So even though it was quite a hassle to have to arrange my stays weeks in advance, I not only saved money on accommodation, but also made tons of new friends around the world :)
- Staying in hostels. This is definitely my favorite option! Why? Because if you stay in hostels, you will make friends with tons of awesome travelers from around the world and get useful travel tips from the local staff members. Not only that, paying for a bunk bed is a lot cheaper than renting out a room, so it also makes sense financially if you're traveling alone.
- Renting AirBnB apartments long-term. I'm not a big fan of renting apartments on AirBnB, because I usually change cities every few days and it's simply too much of a hassle to chat with the owner, get the keys, etc. However, if you're going to stay in one place for a few weeks or even a few months, AirBnB is a perfect option, because you'll be able to get large discounts for your stay and 'feel like home' haha!
