When I first started working online and traveling around, it was fun, exciting, new, but it was just about me and what I wanted. It's the same for most of us, who leave a world of responsibility back home and start chasing freedom.
Now that I've been doing this for 6+ years I realize that this is actually my life so I need to treat it with long term thinking. Slow travel is the only way to really have a normal life while still traveling. So my goal is to spend a minimum of 2-3 months at each location to really get to know a place. It doesn't always work that way, but at least I now have an aim. This year I spent 5 months in Chiang Mai with a few small side trips which is perfect. I'll do something similar in Europe for the next 5 months as well. The perfect formula is home base for 5-6 months in one city, while taking smaller side trips once every 4-8 weeks.
