How much money do I need to travel for a year or longer as a digital nomad?

Answered by Thibault Lemaitre, digital marketing consultant

It really depends on you, your budget, where you come from, and where you want to go.

I think that if you manage to make between 2,000€-5,000€ per month, you should be able to travel almost anywhere on an ongoing basis, without any issue.

But make sure you have built a safety net of about 3 months salary, in case you have an accident or something like that.

I was earning the same amount of money last year traveling that I did the year before, where I was staying in France. The money I'd spent on rent, I spent on Airbnbs, but I could have saved more money by going to a hostel instead.

Have a look at Nomad List too: it's got a good level of indication of how much money you might spend based on the destination you're interested in going to.
