When it comes to content promotion, my take is that even if you're just starting out, you should always be promoting your blog content, because you won't likely get a sizable readership by just publishing on your blog (SEO optimization works, but it won't be your â€œmagic bulletâ€ as Ramit Sethi likes to say.)
It also depends if you're thinking about paid (e.g. Facebook ads) or organic promotion (engaging influencers who are in your niche to get them share your content, participating in the right communities that read stuff you would write etc.) â€” the latter is often a lot easier and cheaper to do.
