Answered by Kristin Wilson, relocation consultant
I think the two go hand-in-hand because being a digital nomad and traveling helps me continue to identify with the needs of my clients. My past experience studying abroad, majoring in international business, then working in real estate and relocation provided the skill set that helped me launch my online business in 2011.
The one thing I try to ensure is that I travel slowly or combine short trips so that I'm not constantly on-the-move. I try to balance travel with my workload and seasonal fluctuations. In each country I live in, I also do all the primary research to qualify if it should be one of my relocation destinations, so if it makes sense to add it to the list, travel can become a source of future revenue and that makes the trip profitable.
